Sometimes a makeover involves more radical reconstruction, where the teeth, for one reason or another, have really been practically destroyed. And we have the ability to reconstruct—sometimes in one day—somebody’s smile, and from their perspective, sometimes their lives. You can wind up making an extreme transformation… and I’m not a real huggy person, but I wind up getting quite a few hugs at the end of these makeovers. That’s one of the things that makes it a warm, rich, rewarding experience, and that’s part of what I like about dentistry.
